A CHARMING COASTAL WEDDING

Katie and I met in college. Nursing school is a category all of it’s own and camaraderie is a little slice of heaven when you find a friend going through the same things as you! Katie and I actually didn’t cross paths a ton while we were in school simply because of class scheduling, but we ended up sitting next to each other for graduation! A perfect moment to look at the girl next to you, celebrate together and say “we did it!” Talk about camaraderie! After graduation, Katie reached out and asked about an engagement session. You may remember their adorable winter session at Farmdale Reservoir here in Illinois. When Katie initially reached out, she explained that they would be moving to Florida in the time between their engagement session and their wedding. After some chatting, she blew me away and said she would love to have us come photograph their wedding in Clearwater, FL! It was so refreshing professionally to get to serve such sweet, fun-loving people like Katie, Zach and their families and friends. We’d never had the chance to shoot in Clearwater before, either, so that’s always a fun change of pace and professional challenge to find the best light and locations. The little chapel that they said their vows in was beautiful, simple, and perfect. Their wedding was intimate and meaningful in every way!

With rain coming down throughout the day and the sun barely peeking through the clouds, it was up to Zach and Katie to be the shining lights of the day. And let me tell you! They did not disappoint. The family was one of the most loving that we’ve ever seen. And don’t even get us started on the bridal party! From the very capable bridesmaids to the adorable little flower girl; it was obvious that their mission of the day was to make Katie and Zach’s big day amazing. Katie and her girls were absolutely stunning. Zach’s guys were full of fun and a perfect group of friends to surround a groom on the big day.

I know it was true on our wedding day and I think it is for most couples, now Zach and Katie included, could attest that wedding days can become a blur. From all the congratulations to the quick in-between pictures, selfies with your friends and hugs and kisses straight through to the first dance… but every moment was so special because of the people surrounding Zach and Katie. Their friends and families traveled from different cities and states to celebrate the day with them. The evening was full of sweet toasts, beautiful memories and tons of fun with friends and family that had gathered for the couple. It was really hard to say goodbye, knowing that it’ll definitely be a while before we see them again. But, we know that they’re starting their lives off the right way, with the support of all their loved ones!

So, Zach and Katie. Thank you truly from the bottom of our heart, for the trust you placed in us to document the monumental beginning of your lives together. We hope you love looking back on these memories as much as we loved capturing them for you.
