We are natural light wedding & portrait photographers based in Peoria, Illinois. Our bright and joyful images tell timeless love stories with classic style. We love the glow of golden hour and prioritize dreamy portraits of our couples on their wedding day!

MEET KYRA
HOW KAP STARTED
In college, while pursuing a career in nursing, I launched my photography business in order to have a flexible schedule and a creative outlet. It was a natural fit since I had been interested in photography since I got my first teal point and shoot in middle school. Along with college classes, I soaked up any and all education I could find on my own and took even more classes as my business grew! After graduating college and working as a labor and delivery nurse, Ben and I welcomed two sweet baby boys into our world.
While I love nursing, I also love the work from home life, staying at home with our kiddos, and decided to take photography full time. Weekends are for weddings (and cake!) My husband Ben and I have always done weddings together and going full time allows us to serve more couples every year! During the week I celebrate mamas and their littles with maternity & newborn portrait sessions. I just can't quite leave the mama/baby world alone and it just flows naturally after being a labor nurse!
We grew up knowing each other since we were 10 years old! Somewhere along the years there was some serious crushing & blushing before we starting seriously dating in high school.
Here's the real fun fact! ... I'm a Michigan girl and he's from the middle of Illinois! So, dating in high school actually meant long distance, which is a huge deal! This boy often made the 6 hour drive every other week up to Michigan to see me, most of the time just for an evening and then turn around and drive home! Talk about impressive! (& slightly crazy!) But it worked! And after graduating high-school, I moved to Illinois!

MARRIED
We got married in a beautiful barn when pinterest was barely a thing and yes, we were so young! But we wouldn't have it any other way!
HUSTLING
Engineering and nursing. This was our story before photography became full time! You might say we can't help ourselves & love to multitask and juggle lots!
PARENTS
We have officially entered parenthood. And it's beautiful! It's a journey that's already brought us incredible joy but also brought us through painful loss. We have one baby boy in Heaven and two boys with us here! Everett was born in March of '20 and is full of smiles and lights up our world! Brecken joined us in August of '21.
