This day started with Kaylee greeting us at the door of Marlene’s Event Barn, lots of hugs and “the day is finally here!”. It seems like we were just eating ice cream at their engagement session, (one of my all time favorites and not just because it involved ice cream!) and now here we are. Wedding day!

Before joining her and the girls in the bridal suite, I ventured into the venue to see everything ALL set up and ready to go! And it was gorgeous! If you know how wedding days go behind the scenes, often times the reception area isn’t buttoned up with final touches until right before the reception begins. In this case, Kaylee and her family grabbed their coffee and arrived early in the morning to do the set up themselves! I was highly impressed and thrilled because we could start photographing all the details right away!

While Ben began capturing the reception details, I went to the bridal suite and met the sweetest girls who were finishing getting hair and makeup done. Kaylee’s bridesmaids were all so kind & sweet… just like Kaylee! I grabbed a few candids before collecting the bridal details and finding some beautiful light to lay them out to photograph.

After a fun champagne pop, her sisters and mom got Kaylee in her dress. There were tears, there were encouraging words, and of course the room was filled with Kaylee’s beautiful signature laugh.

When Tyler and his groomsmen arrived at the barn, they joined Ben for some photos before getting Tyler ready for the first look. Kaylee shared a first look with her dad (super sweet!) and then with Tyler.

We actually happen to attend church alongside Tyler and Kaylee AND they are in our small group! In fact it was at a small group night that Tyler quietly turned to me and asked “Hey, would you happen to have this date available on your photography calendar?” He hadn’t even proposed yet! We were so excited for him and Kaylee from the beginning and were honored they chose us to capture their special day. Photographing their wedding was pretty special for us as we’re truly celebrating as friends watching them join together in a lifelong journey of marriage. The ceremony was at our local church and after some family photos we headed back to Marlene’s Event Barn.

The reception started with a sentimental speech by Kaylee’s dad before a delicious dinner, more speeches and lots of fun dancing. These two have some amazing friends & family that knew exactly how to love on and support them throughout the day and also how to bring the party at the end of the day! The dance floor was packed all night, so fun!
