A BOTANICAL GARDEN FALL WEDDING | MAHOMET, IL
Fall is here and Philip & Maggie had THE perfect fall day for a wedding! We woke up to lots of fog in the morning, but as it lifted it brought on the crisp cool morning air that warmed as the sun came out. We arrived at The Elks Lake Pavilion at the Champaign County Forest Preserve and began the day with hugs and hellos! Finding a picture perfect location to place the dress and details is my first step on a wedding day and Maggie’s dress was one to impress for sure! I had to grab some extra help from Ben to hang it in just the right spot outside!
The ceremony was gorgeous in every way. The site overlooks a beautiful waterfall and pond that sets the scene for a romantic wedding. Philip doesn’t get serious about many things, he’s a really fun lighthearted guy who loves to joke. But as the ceremony began, you could see in his face how important Maggie is to him and how much he respects the marriage they are beginning together. From beginning to end, the ceremony and their vows showed just how perfect of a match these two are!
At the reception these two kept things pretty casual, which fits them well. It was a great time with family and friends (and some good BBQ catering too!)
It was a unique wedding day for us as photographers because it was also a family wedding. Philip has always been one of my closest cousins, from vacations together to a whole summer that he lived with Ben and I when he first moved here to Illinois from Ohio. We were completely honored to photograph the day and are so happy to be officially welcoming Maggie into the family!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their day!
