Maternity Session at Farmdale Reservoir

It’s so much fun to photograph friends! Elise and I used to work together as labor and delivery nurses, so to be able to photograph her maternity session with her husband Caleb was just so fitting! It’s been a little while since I’ve worked at the hospital and so to get to catch up while we did their session was fun too! One of my favorite things as an OB and labor nurse was when patients waited to be surprised about gender at delivery and since Elise and Caleb are doing just that, I’m pretty excited to find out once their babe arrives!

The week of their shoot, I had been watching weather and the lighting pretty carefully because the wildfire smoke and haze had made it’s way over here to Illinois! That week was a little different with more evening haze, orange glow, and it was getting darker faster than normal! But that didn’t stop us from having a beautiful session!! These two were so much fun in front of the camera!

Elise & Caleb, not only am I excited to find out if you’re having a boy or girl but I’m thrilled to be able to be a small part of your celebration as you look forward to welcoming a little one!
